Chapters 1 - 9 are Physical Science Chemistry
Chapters 10 - 16 are Physical science Physics
Vocabulary Terms for Physical Science Chemistry chapters 1-9 will be in questions. You will need to know them
Vocabulary Terms for Physical Science Physics chapters 10 - 16 will be in questions. You will need to know them
The test out will have problems you need to solve for both the physical science chemistry and physics test out. In the notes there are sections which show you how to do the problems and they are in the book as practice problems. All of the different types of problems will be on the test out.
The test out in each class will have problem sections, short answer sections and multiple choice sections to the exam.
Both physical science chemistry and and physics are laboratory science classes. You will have a laboratory practice part of the exam as well. You are to demonstrate lab skills, safety practices and preform two labs. Before you do the labs you will have to pass a lab safety exam. If you do not pass this exam with a 90% you will not take this section of the test. This is done for safety reasons as you will not have the knowledge to safely take this section of the exam. The safety exam will be given on theon each testing day and on the day of the lab practical. this will give you three chances to get the 90%.
Testing out will be a long hard rigorous process. In order to have a chance to pass the test out exam, it will take alot of studying and hard work. It will take most of a school day to take the written section of the physical science chemistry test out. the same is true of the physical science physics test. Plan on half a day for the physical science chemistry lab practical and another half a day for the physical science physics lab practical. If you plan on trying to test out of the physical science physics or physical science physics class plan on 1.5 days of testing time. If you plan on trying to test out of both physical science chemistry and physics plan on it taking three days of testing time. the testing will begin three school days before school starts.
You will have this list of equations for the physical science physics section of the exam
Physics Equations
Speed = distance/time
Velocity = distance/time
Acceleration = Vf - Vi / t
Momentum p = mv
Work = f x d
Power = work/time = F x d/t
Efficiency = work output/work input
Kelvin = oC + 273
Fahrenheit = (1.8 x oC) + 32
Celsius = (oF – 32)/1.8
Specific Heat Q = m(TF – Ti)cp
Frequency = 1/period = 1/ time in seconds
Wave Speed = Frequency x wavelength
Speed of wave = wavelength/period
Resistance = Voltage/current
Power = Voltage x current
Current = Power/voltage
MA of a ramp = length/ height
MA Lever = length of effort arm/length of resistance arm
Kinetic Energy = 1/2mv2
Gravitational Potential Energy = mgh g = 9.8m/sec2
